My pregnancy: week 27

I’m in week 27 and it’s now less than a hundred days until our baby is due. Less than a hundred days until our life’s changes forever and we’re becoming parents, wow! I’m so looking forward to meeting this little person that I can hardly wait!

I’m feeling really good and keep on joining the girls for our morning walks around the lake – good thing I have long legs so that I still can keep up on their speed without a problem, haha! I try to do some pre-natal yoga a couple of times a week as well as I feel that it really does wonder for my body and my migraines. Haven’t had any weird cravings so far, but for quite some time now I’ve felt the need to eat much more fresh fruit, berries, smoothies and salads than usual. And of course some chocolate every once in a while.

breakfast

My favorite breakfast/snack at the moment – greek yogurt with honey and fresh berries! Delicious!

Today I’m having a lazy morning with a cup of coffee and a good book, getting ready for some yoga. Plan is to meet up with the girls this afternoon to go shopping, I really need to get going with the nursery to have it done by June 1st when I’m leaving but I haven’t really decided on what to get so I think we’ll need to drop by some baby stores.

I wish you all a lovely Thursday!

My pregnancy: week 23

23weeksBW

So I’m currently in my 23rd week of pregnancy and I have to say that I feel absolutely great! Of course I get a bit tired from time to time but my body feels good, I’m not nauseous any more and most of the time I feel that I have quite a lot of energy! Long walks with my dog, yoga and some light weight lifting to keep my bad shoulders in place seems to do the trick since it’s actually been weeks since I had my last migraine which I suffered from a lot earlier of the pregnancy. I really hope that I will keep feeling this good as there’s a lot that I would like to check of my list these following months!

Our baby is due end of July and I’m planning on  giving birth in Sweden as I feel more comfortable being close to my family and also to give birth with doctors and midwives that speaks my native language. I’ll be traveling back to Sweden beginning of June and to be honest I’m quite excited to move in to our Stockholm apartment again even if it’s only for a couple of months. My husband will commute during the summer and I know I’ll be missing him terribly during the weeks but me and the baby will return to Switzerland/France as soon as we feel ready to travel so it’s just for a short period. Fortunately we do have some experience with a long distance relationship from when he was working in South Africa and Stockholm is less than a 3 hour flight from Geneva.

Off to a fundraising event

I’ve just been so tired today and after an appointment with my hairdresser in Nyon to lighten up my roots and a walk with London with this stunning view I went home and slept for several hours. Now I’m off to a fundraising event for girls’ education in underdeveloped countries that my friend Denise is hosting. I just think it’s such a great initiative and the girls have done a fantastic job – however, it feels like it’s going to be an early evening. That’s just the way it is when you’re pregnant I guess and I’m trying to really listen to my body.

Hope you’re all having a nice Thursday evening!

Château de Divonne

chateau de divonne

Some pictures from the terrace of Château de Divonne – a picture perfect castle from the 18th century now turned in to a hotel and restaurant that holds a panoramic view over the Geneva area, the alps and Mont Blanc. The best thing of all is that it’s located just a short walk from our house in this little picturesque thermal spa town just outside of Geneva and on a sunny afternoon there’s no place better to bring your book and enjoy a cappuccino or tea.

One thing I really love about the culture here is how dog friendly it is – you can almost bring your dog anywhere but the grocery store. At the Château they really like dogs and they are allowed to run freely on the domains. I don’t know how I’m ever going to be able to adjust to not bringing London everywhere I go when we move away from here, he just loves to come with me to any adventure!

I’m in love with this Zara dress it just doesn’t get more comfortable than wearing it together with a pair of flats – voila!

Harmony ball

IMG_6430.JPG

Yesterday I received a small package in my mail box and I could detect my mothers handwriting almost immediately. When opening the package I found this beautiful necklace with a pendant harmony ball. The harmony ball has the inscription “Längtan”, Swedish for ‘longing for’ or ‘to long for’ which is very suitable as we really are longing for this baby to arrive. I love this necklace so much, thank you mom ❤

“Harmony Ball Pendants worn as necklaces have been used in various cultures for centuries by pregnant women and hence harmony balls are often called pregnancy harmony ball pendants. Pregnant women in Bali and Mexico are known to have traditionally worn these harmony balls when pregnant.
A Harmony Ball typically is made from sterling silver and contains a small bell like item that emits very subtle but audible chimes with movement, not unlike the sound of wind charms in a very soft breeze.
It is said that from about 16-20 weeks into the pregnancy that the unborn baby will hear the soft chimes sound coming from the harmony ball. The soft chiming sound is said to soothe the unborn baby and can even have calming benefits for the mother to be.”

More pictures of today’s outfit is coming up shortly!

New design, new name, new start!

Welcome to my new site – Postcards from Josefine! I felt I really needed a fresh start and I hope you like both the name and the the new design. Thank you so much dear Isabell N Wedin for helping me with the header!

This spring I have some small trips planned around Europe – hopefully I’ll be able to show you places like Lugano, Milan and Paris, and of course a lot of places around Geneva, before our baby is being born. As my belly is growing and I am visiting all these wonderful places I felt I really needed to update my wardrobe and ordered some new dresses. You can tell I really have a thing for lace at the moment and nothing feels as good as wearing flowy dresses when being pregnant. I’m looking forward to show you some new looks shortly!

My husband has left for a weekend in Chamonix with some of his childhood friends so I’ve bunkered up with a lot of food, new flowers, movies and books – but first I’m off for some Starbucks in Geneva with my friend Sarah. Hope you’re all having a great Friday!

Postcard from Nyon

I’m back in Switzerland/France and the weather is just amazing – I think I’ve fallen in love with this place again after a long winter. The settings around Geneva are just so beautiful and every little village is picture perfect. Today me and my friend Sarah went to Nyon to run some errands – the sun was shining, we were driving top down in her convertible, waiving to everyone we met with a smile and a “bonjoooooour” and we just had such a great day! I think I’ll just be smiling for some time now, haha!

Nyon is one of my favorite places in the area with a great selection of restaurants, coffee shops and bars. I just love to go to the Chateau where you can sit for hours just looking at the fantastic view over Lac Leman, or walk the winding cobblestone roads.

Spring is here!

Hi guys! I’m in south of Sweden at the moment visiting my family. Had to go to Stockholm to see my doctor last week and then decided to spend some days with my family in the south. The weather is just amazing – finally spring is here!

Since I just love to travel light as I always seems to be on the move I really have to be creative (and every now and then borrow clothes from friends and family). We are expecting a baby this summer and since I’m now 21 weeks pregnant I really can’t stand clothes that aren’t comfy any more. So yesterday I matched a Zara dress and my favourite hat with my moms coat and scarf – mom thought I looked like the character from “Annie get your gun” and I really loved the style, haha!

Me and my mom spent 5 hours outside in the sunshine with the dogs yesterday. We went for a long walk and then had coffee with friends by the water. Such a wonderful way to spend your Sunday!
